Fasanara welcomes latest charity, Eyes on the Future, to Foundation
18 October 2023
London, United Kingdom – October 18, 2023
Announcing our partnership with Eyes on the Future, a charity supporting those affected by rare eye diseases, fills us with an overwhelming sense of joy and purpose. Eyes on the Future joins Fasanara’s Foundation – Second Chances, a select group of charities which receive investors’ donated investment proceeds, matched by Fasanara who will donate the same percentage of their fees from that share class, via a special dedicated share class. They join a great list of existing charities already in our target list: United Hatzalah Israel Rescue, Stand By Me, and Synchronicity Earth.
Eyes on the Future represents a community focused on caring for individuals affected by Inherited Retinal Dystrophies (IRDs), a group of rare genetic eye diseases that cause progressive vision loss in children, and in particular those with RDH12 IRD, a gene mutation which causes severe retinal degeneration. Children affected by this condition unfortunately slowly lose their sight by their late-teens/early-twenties. The condition is currently untreatable. The community comprises RDH12 patients, caregivers, families and supporters, committed to driving research and treatment. By uniting patients, scientists, industry and stakeholders, they accelerate research efforts and work to bridge the gap between scientific progress and available treatments.
At Eyes on the Future, we believe in the power of unity and the resilience of the human spirit. Partnering with Fasanara is a step forward towards our shared goal of extending the gift of sight to those affected by inherited eye diseases.
- Silvia Cerolini, Co-Founder & CEO of Eyes on the Future, and mother of a 9 year old girl affected by this condition.
Eyes on the Future’s goal is to extend the duration of sight for affected individuals through awareness, scientific support and research advancement. They are firm believers in the power of collaboration across patients, industry and academia to make therapies accessible to those with RDH12 IRD and other inherited eye diseases. Further, they view their model of innovation as a potential solution for other rare diseases, given the shared challenges often faced.
We are overjoyed to have Eyes on the Future as part of our charity foundation. Together, we look forward to making a profound difference in the lives of many.
- Francesco Filia, Founder & CEO of Fasanara
